What was your favorite track or release of your own from 2023, and why?
‘Amegdul,’ I always wanted to utilize the guembri instrument and a live recording not the digital version of it. It has a unique sound, very raw and authentic.
Name one festival or event you performed at, or attended in 2023 that left you in awe of the crowd’s energy.
Miami Music Week, that was my first time playing there and the energy is immaculate. Played a couple of shows and words can’t describe the crowd’s energy. I absolutely loved it and I’ll be there next year.
Can you share a memorable moment from a fan interaction or message you received in the past year?
During ADE had couple interactions with some fans, and it’s always nice to hear that my music has reached people from all around the world. It’s a feeling beyond satisfaction.
What’s the most played song in your personal music library from 2023 that wasn’t your own?
Skrillex ft. Nai Barghouti – Xena (Ninetoes Remix)
Tell us about a unique or unexpected source of inspiration that fueled your creativity in 2023.
Walking around South Beach that’s when I heard a reggaeton song being blasted out of someone’s car, which I got inspired to integrate Caribbean sounds to one of my tracks. The end result was ‘Dihya’.
Name one piece of gear or software you couldn’t live without in the studio last year.
Just my laptop.
Share a favorite memory from a behind-the-scenes moment while touring or producing in 2023.
Finishing up ‘Amegdul’ and the final project coming out exactly as I envisioned it, also seeing the crowd’s reaction to it while testing the track on the road.
If you could sum up the essence of your musical journey in 2023 in just three words, what would they be?
One word, phenomenal.
