Alex Galvan and BÂBEL presents, Piedras Preciosas, a two-track organic house release with moody atmosphere.
Its tracks take melodies played on organic instruments, and submerges them in deep pads that have dark undertones. Their mid-tempo grooves are powered by sturdy percussion that’s ideal for a dance floor.
The release comes after Alex Galvan and BÂBEL recently collaborated on a track put out by Sounds of Khemit. Piedras Preciosas comes via Alex Galvan’s record label, Satélite Records.
In addition to music on his own label, Alex Galvan has also put out music through Dialtone Records, Shango Records, WAYU Records, and many others of equal note.
BÂBEL are relatively new, and it’s a coming together of De la Torre and Liturri, both of whom are experienced solo artists. So, although BÂBEL is a new project, their music already has a pedigree sound.
“La Joya” is the opening cut, and its Arabic strings fill the track with organic tones, while the dramatic bass stabs and funky bassline add to the unfolding suspense of this magical track. “La Pieza” is all about the flute that gives the breakdown a soaring vibe, before the throbbing bassline and crisp percussion regain control.
