Felix E and Michael Ritter team up to drop a stunning deep/melodic house release featuring two original tracks.
The release’s title track “Tagträume” is dark and brooding with a spoken word vocal that gives it an introverted vibe. “Eklat” is a much more uplifting cut, and it’s more traditional melodic house with building pads and rolling percussion.
Both of the guys behind the release are Berlin based, and this EP is testament to their skills as producers, as it shows they are able to apply a high level of production across a range of styles. This is also supported in their other releases, as together they have produced everything from organic house to melodic techno.
Not only are Felix E and Michael Ritter regular collaborators, but they have also released solo music, and worked with other skilled producers. Their collaborations can also be found on imprints including Discotexas, Reconsider Music and Kiosk ID. They have also worked separately to release music on labels ranging from Cafe De Anatolia to Mango Alley.
“Tagträume” has a dark and eerie opening that introduces the vocals, before the pads and melody stabs add to the unfolding groove, which is augmented by bursts of breakbeat percussion. “Eklat” has Afro-influenced percussion and building pads that are joined by poignant piano chords and intimate breath samples.
