MoBlack has collaborated with Bedouin and Feki Station on a new rework of Salif Keita’s iconic ‘Mandjou,’ out Friday 24 July via Decca Records France. The superb new release follows the worldwide success of MoBlack’s official remix of Salif Keita’s ‘Yamore’, which went on to achieve Diamond certification in France and five-times Diamond certification globally.
Feki Station has released with renowned labels like MoBlack Records and picked up significant support from industry heavyweights such as Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Damian Lazarus and more, while the Bedouin duo have long been at the forefront of melodic, organic and deep house as DJs, producers and residents of their own acclaimed SAGA party in Ibiza.
This latest collaboration revisits another of Keita’s best-known recordings and pairs his original vocals with contemporary Afro house production. According to MoBlack, the track has been a regular feature in his DJ sets for more than a year before its official release and has been gradually building anticipation on dancefloors around the world.
MoBlack said: “Mandjou began as a spark in 2024 and naturally evolved over the following years into a collaboration with Bedouin, Salif Keita and Feki Station. It was one of those records that took time to find its true identity, with each of us adding something meaningful along the way. Blending organic instrumentation with electronic textures, the track is built around Salif Keita’s timeless voice and a groove that grows naturally without forcing the moment. For me, ‘Mandjou’ is about patience, connection, and letting music speak for itself, coming alive when shared together on the dancefloor.”
The new version blends organic instrumentation with Afro house rhythms, combining deep, tribal percussion, melodic arrangements and Salif Keita’s distinctive vocal performance into a contemporary interpretation of the original.
This is another tasteful collision of club and world music cultures from the ever innovative MoBlack.
